If you’ve decided to buy your own CRM software, there are many questions to ask -- beyond the basics, such as hardware requirements and costs involved -- before choosing a CRM solution vendor:

What is the long term viability of the vendor?
What is their vision for the CRM market?
Where do they stand in the market?
Do they have past success in business segments like yours?
What is the breadth and depth of functionality in the system?
Can (and will) they provide remote and on site support?
How well will the system integrate with your legacy, backend systems and third-party applications?
How flexible is the usage of operating systems?
