PrinterOn finds a huge increase in the number of pages printed by hotel guests over the past three months.
PrinterOn Corp. said hotel guests are increasingly taking advantage of
in-room printing capabilities, and that it has seen a 300% increase in the
number of printed pages by hotel guests using PrinterOn services in the past
three months.
The PrinterOn service is offered to
guests at 150 major North American brand hotels, including the Hilton Garden
Inn, Hyatt, Radisson, Doubletree and Marriott.
"The number of guests using the
printing service validates the increased need for guest printing,” said Steve
Spicer, PrinterOn’s CEO and president. “PrinterOn expects the usage to increase
exponentially in the coming year.”
PrinterOn’s driverless printing portal
lets guests remotely print documents, e-mails and and Web content directly from
their Internet-enabled laptops. A print job can be sent from a guest's room to a
printer found in the hotel's business center. Guests simply open a browser and
access the service using a hotel-branded Web site. Guests can pick up their
documents or have the front desk deliver the documents to their room.
Separately, the company also announced
that it has teamed with SuperClick to develop a way for hotels to charge guests
for their print jobs.
PrinterOn teamed with Superclick to
integrate tracking and billing of hotel guest printing activity. The combined
service saves on costs, since no staff intervention is required, and enables
hotels to adding print billing directly to a guest’s room bill.
"Hotels are always looking to increase
guest satisfaction and reduce staff workload," said Ronald Fon, Superclick's
CEO. "Integrating printing and Internet services billing into the Property
Management System can turn both services into real profit centers for a hotel.”
