Adobe boosts image offerings for users, while Sorenson Media releases a beta flash tool and e frontier offers Poser 6 users discounted anniversary pricing on animation solution.

Adobe Adds Four New Image Collections

San Jose, Calif.-based Adobe Systems Inc. has announced the addition of four new royalty-free image collections to Adobe Stock Photos, which is included in Adobe CS2, Adobe Illustrator CS2 and Adobe GoLive CS2.

The new collections include Creatas Images, Goodshoot, IT Stock Free and Thinkstock Images, all from Jupiterimages. The company said with the additions there are over 355,000 images available to users.

Sorenson Previews Squeeze 4.2 for Windows and Flash Betas

Salt Lake City-based Sorenson Media has announced the public beta release of its video encoding and compression solutions, Sorenson Squeeze 4.2 Compression Suite for Windows and Sorenson Squeeze 4.2 for Macromedia Flash for Windows.

Sorenson Squeeze 4.2 now includes support for Macromedia Flash Player 8 and has integrated the professional version of the VP6 video codec from On2 Technologies, according to the company.

In addition, the beta release includes a new FLV player and offers users new Flash Video Player templates.

e frontier Launches Poser 6 Upgrade Promotion

Scotts Valley, Calif.-based e frontier America Inc. announced that it's offering Poser users a reduced upgrade rate for its Poser 6 3D figure and animation software. Until Oct. 31, Poser users can upgrade to Poser 6 for $99.

Poser 6 was released earlier this year with a revamped interface, new male and female high-resolution figures for modeling, and added cartoon outline and rendering effects.
