Redmond, Wash.-based Microsoft Corp. has released the Microsoft RAW Image Thumbnailer and Viewer for Windows XP.

Earlier this month the company announced its intention to release the viewer, which also comes with the ability to organize, sort and edit Canon and Nikon Raw files.

At the time of the announcement, Microsoft said it planned to incorporate the offerings in a future version of Digital Image Suite.

Microsoft said it is also currently developing a certification program for third-party Raw image codecs.

Raleigh, N.C.-based Alien Skin Software LLC has announced the addition of Eye Candy 5: Impact, a set of 10 Adobe Photoshop plug-in filters for graphic designers, digital photographers and Web content creators.

Impact creates chrome, bevels, glass buttons, perspective shadows, and includes embossing effects with preset bevel shapes and new surface texture controls, according to the company.

On Thursday, UniDream Marketing Technologies Inc. released PhotoWatermark Professional 6.0.5.4, with enhanced file data features and output options.

PhotoWatermark Professional 6.0.5.4 enables users to expediently watermark digital pictures in batch or singularly, and users have a variety of watermarking styles and text styles available for images.

Additionally, users can save favorite watermarks in a watermark library for future use.
