Company outsources its online software marketing and sales to Digital River.

Discreet, a division of Autodesk, has outsourced its e-commerce functions to Digital River, which now handles the software maker’s multi-channel, international e-commerce solutions.

Digital River is supporting the North American and European online marketing and sales of Discreet&singlequot;s award-winning software solutions for the creation, management and delivery of digital media, and is hosting Discreet&singlequot;s branded online stores at http://estore.discreet.com.

Digital River is not only providing Discreet with access to its online sales network, but also handling all of the services necessary for running the company&singlequot;s branded e-commerce site. These services include managing orders and Value Added Tax (VAT), as well as providing digital and physical software delivery in North America, third-party integration with fulfillers in Europe, multi-lingual customer service, fraud prevention and e-marketing services.

To help grow its online business, Discreet is using Digital River&singlequot;s self-service tools to implement merchandising and e-marketing programs, which include cross-sells, bundles, exit pop-ups and trial download e-mail offers.

"By outsourcing our e-commerce operations to Digital River, Discreet has been able to reduce the risk, complexity and capital investment required for launching, managing and growing our international online business," said Liseanne Gillham, Discreet&singlequot;s senior e-commerce manager. "Digital River&singlequot;s online sales network and e-commerce platform and services offer us the breadth and depth we need to address the range of purchasing preferences that exist across our global customer base. Its self-service site management and merchandising tools help us efficiently maintain our sites, handle new product launches and merchandising offers, and test the many new ideas that have helped our sites generate sustained and targeted growth. The company also exposes our products to thousands of shoppers by reselling our products through its network of retail, content and portal sites. In addition, the online campaign tracking and sales reporting options provide us with the detailed information necessary to better understand and meet customers&singlequot; demands."

In addition to its company-branded stores, Discreet&singlequot;s software will be featured in Digital River&singlequot;s catalog of software products, which is available for resale through its online sales network. Through these channels, online shoppers may purchase and immediately download Discreet&singlequot;s products.

Today, Digital River hosts and manages e-commerce sites for nearly 35,000 companies worldwide. These sites can transact in more than 15 currencies, display in any language or currency, deliver multiple international payment options and support customer service in 12 languages, including (traditional) Chinese, Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Portuguese, Spanish and Swedish. To help its clients avoid large registration expenses as well as complicated filing and compliance procedures, Digital River also manages all processes associated with VAT registration.
