The latest editions of the popular color management applications give users greater formulation and quality control features.GretagMacbeth recently announced the release of the Color iMatch 4.0 and Color iCQ 4.0. The updated color management applications give manufacturers increased color control and the ability to match and define colors securely using Internet-based remote access tools.
Rich Knapp, software product manager for the Switzerland-based GretagMacbeth, part of Amazys Holding AG, said the online editions not only boost the accuracy in color matching for users, but also increase productivity by having all the data centralized and managed from one location.
With the release of the online editions GretagMacbeth has streamlined color formulation and correction workflow, reducing the number of steps to complete each process by almost 50 percent.

Users can also tap the online Palette Finder capabilities and measure their entire palettes. Color iMatch will automatically deliver the closest match for the entire palette simultaneously.
The online editions also include ready-made templates for outputting color data.
The centralized database allows users to log in and start color matching. There's no local installation or setup required.
In addition, the packages offer fully integrated electronic color sample submit capability in the Color iQC software. Using Color iQC, users can simulate any sample's color and texture, according to the company.
Color iMatch is compatible with most data formats and compatible with GretagMacbeth spectrophotometers as well as most other brands.
"Online editions guarantee that every location is using the most current color data because all the data is centralized and managed from one location," Knapp said. "And since it uses the Internet, you can literally match colors 24/7 worldwide."
The online editions were in development for over nine months and the company is planning on adding further automation capability to simplify the workflow for manufacturers and their global supply chains in future releases.
