GridIron Software announced
a new digital asset management and workflow tool at last week's
MacWorld San Francisco. Called GridIron Flow, the software is intended
for creative professionals workingon graphic design, web, and video
projects.
Flow automatically tracks the design process of a project, integrating with creative applications including those of Apple and Adobe. It recognizes the file formats associated with applications across both Mac OS X and Windows platforms, and maintains the relationship between project elements as they move between local, networked, and removable storage.
The software also tracks each change to a file, including each import, export, save, and copy/paste, creating a map of the workflow for a project with what GridIron calls its Real-Time Asset Tracking, showing how files have been used in a project and how they relate to one another. The maps include not just the files, but internal elements including comps and layers.
“Creative Professionals now have an easy way to visualize their design process and share their projectswith a colleague, ship them to a client or archive them for safe keeping,” said Steve Forde, CEO of GridIron Software.
The software is currently entering public beta, and should be available for Mac OS X, Windows XP and Windows Vista this summer.
