Answers demand for richer, 3D-enabled multimedia in mass-market consumer devices.

Hybrid Graphics has agreed to license 3D graphics technology to Nokia. Hybrid's implementations of OpenGL ES, Java M3G, and Scalable Vector Graphics technologies are already licensed by major mobile manufacturers for mobile game and navigation applications. Among Hybrid's customers and partners are Ericsson Mobile Platforms, Fathammer, Futuremark, Intel, and Sony Online Entertainment.

"We see a growing demand for a richer, 3D-enabled multimedia functionality in our product range," says Nokia’s Petri Haavisto, VP, Mobile Computing Platform. "Hybrid is a recognized expert in the field of mobile graphics technology, and was a good candidate for our needs."

"Nokia drives the consumer market for mobile phones, and we are glad to see them adopting a strong position in the emerging 3D graphics content for mobile phones," says Hybrid CEO Mikael Honkavaara. "Tested and robust graphics solutions are crucial in forming a rich mobile entertainment market."
