Typefaces revisit Art Deco, the 1960s, and Cooper Black.

International Typeface Corporation is adding 37 more fonts to its collection of 1,500+. The new typefaces join the ITC Astro, Tyke, Resavska, and Anna families.

"ITC is known for its quality and diversity of designs," said Director of Words and Letters Allan Haley. "These families add to the depth and breadth of ITC's type offering. It's now one of the largest typographic resources available to the design community."

Here is what to expect of the new typefaces:

ITC Astro

ITC Astro was inspired by the 1960s cartoon series "The Jetsons,” featuring varying angles and an individual baseline shadow for each character. This typeface is available in solid and outline weights, individually for $39.95 or together for $72. ITC Astro is offered in the OpenType format as well as the PostScript and TrueType formats.

ITC Tyke

ITC Tyke offers the heftiness of Cooper Black in five distinctive weights with corresponding italics and old style figures. Individual fonts sell for $29 and the complete volume can be purchased for $199.

ITC Resavska

The ITC Resavska family is notable for its legibility in small sizes. With the addition of geometric serifs, the family has grown to include four weights in serif and sans serif sub-families. Each weight (except the black) has an italic counterpart. Individual ITC Resavska fonts are available for $29. The ITC Resavska and ITC Resavska Sans families sell for $169 each.

ITC Anna

The Art Deco-flavored contemporary look of ITC Anna is now available in a bold weight, ITC Anna Extended. ITC Anna Extended is available for $39.95. The ITC Anna family of four fonts can be purchased for $99.

To view the complete character sets of each new font, visit the ITC Web site and search by font name.

Each ITC font includes a license for up to five computers and one printer. All these fonts are available for Microsoft Windows and Macintosh platforms in the PostScript and TrueType formats.
