The update for the preflight tool kit includes new support for Adobe FrameMaker and MS Word and speeds prepress processing.Markzware has released FlightCheck Workflow 2.0, with newly added support for Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe InDesign CS, MS Word, Publisher and PowerPoint, as well as new batch converting and correction options in the prepress workflow toolkit.
FlightCheck Workflow 2.0 automates color conversion, file repair, and offers preflight support for PDFs.
Pat Marchese, founder and CEO of Santa Ana, Calif.-based Markzware Software, said this release brings not only significant additional application support but also expands image and prepress batch processing capabilities for users.
Marchese also said the release comes with mini-solutions built into the toolkit as well as Actionpoint for Flight Check 5.52.
According to Marchese, the mini-solutions include: batch converting for high resolution images to low conversion images for use on the Web, and conversion features for TIFF images to CMYK from RGB, indexed or LAB, and batch correction processing of file extension names if they've been removed from the file name.
With this release, the Windows platform can be used for automating preflight workflows more effectively and automating repetitive prepress processes, including retrieval and decompression of files, preflighting and asset verification and utilizing external applications to correct and convert files for print.
Markzware is currently working on a release that will add support for Adobe CS2, said Marchese.
FlightCheck Workflow is now compatible with both MS Windows and Macintosh platforms. The suggested manufacturer's retail price for FlightCheck Workflow is $399. Markzware also offers FlightCheck Design and FlightCheck Workflow as a bundle for $499.
