As part of the deal, pxl SmartScale, PhotoFrame, Intellihance Pro, Mask Pro, Photo Tools and QX-Tools Pro are now OnOne's.OnOne Software announced its purchase of several Photoshop plug-ins very popular to designers and other creative types.
The plug-ins, purchased from two subsidiary companies of Tokyo, Japan-based Celartem Technology Inc., Extensis and LizardTech, include: pxl SmartScale, PhotoFrame, Intellihance Pro, Mask Pro, Photo Tools, and QX-Tools Pro from Extensis and the Genuine Fractals product line from Lizard Tech
The specific financial terms were not disclosed by the Portland, Ore.-based OnOne Software Inc., but the software development company said it intended to develop new features and improvements to the line of newly purchased plug-ins.
Carlos Domingo, president and CEO of Celartem, said the sell-off signals Celartem's intention to focus on creating and providing solutions for individual and corporate customers to help them manage their digital content rather than add-ons.
"Users of our products will benefit from a more focused company and product line that will even better serve their needs for managing digital content that drives their most critical workflows," said Domingo.
Mike Wong, director of marketing, said OnOne Software plans to revitalize the plug-ins by releasing several updates to the products over the next 12 months and has already begun development on the updates.
Wong also said in the immediate future users will not be affected other than going to a different Web site for support. OnOne will begin its full technical support of the products on July 31st, and users can visit the Support section for more information.
Domingo said Celartem is now working toward combining its existing font management products, Font Reserve and Suitcase, into what he termed a "fusion" release.
Domingo said the two apps will be combined and released with additional features sometime during 2006 for the font management space.
