My PDF file printed to an HP printer prints the color differently than on a Xerox 2045 printer. Is this because the PDF file is corrupt or is it possible that color calibration is different from printer to printer? How can I get the PDF colors to match more closely on both printers? – Adrian Colefield

This is a direct effect of different color processes in your two color printers. Calibration is a tad more cumbersome in desktop color printers than in other production-class printers. You will likely need to spend time tuning these color palettes with the vendor-provided software, providing they supply it. There are EFI tools for the Xerox DC 2045, but the HP is more cumbersome. Your best case will likely be to have the 2045 emulate the color the ranges on the HP. --Michael Vorel
