Company adds flexibility by offering more models, a three-tiered product line.
Scitex Digital Printing used the Xplor trade show last week to announce
that it has revamped its VersaMark product line and added new models.
Scitex announced that its VersaMark family now has three distinct product
lines: an entry-level monochrome series, called VersaMark JetBlack; a mid-line
series, called VersaMark Vantage; and a high-end series, called VersaMark Ultra.
Both the JetBlack and Vantage products are available with a print speed
of 350 feet per minute (fpm) and can be upgraded to 500 fpm, whereas the Ultra
products are available at 500 fpm with the capability to print up to 1,000 fpm.
Each series offers several models of printing systems, and each model
features high-speed, 100% variable data digital printing technology and a
modular design architecture, the company said, meaning users can upgrade as
their business dictates.
For example, the company added new models to the Vantage series that
enable customers to seamlessly upgrade. Originally, the Vantage product was
capable of 1-up duplex or 2-up simplex printing with a maximum configuration of
five printheads for 4/1 (process color over black) 1-up printing. The new
Vantage product line offers several add-on modules that enable users to print
2-up duplex in black, spot color or process color and every configuration in
between – 11 in all, Scitex said.
Similarly, the company unveiled its monochrome series, JetBlack, which is
available in two configurations: JetBlack SE with a single print module capable
of 2-up simplex or 1-up duplex printing, and JetBlack DE with dual print modules
for 2-up duplex printing. Both have imaging engines that can be reconfigured and
combined with additional components to create a full-color printing system,
offering a cost-effective upgrade path, Scitex said.
"Expanding our VersaMark product family is in response to the market's
need for the competitive advantage of digital printing on the one hand and the
concern for capital preservation on the other," said Kazem Samandari, vice
president of Global Marketing and Product Management at Scitex Digital Printing.
"With these products, users can now select exactly where they can most
comfortably enter the arena of digital printing knowing that they can upgrade as
their business needs grow or change.”
The new JetBlack and Vantage series products are expected to be available
in 2004. For more information, visit Scitex
