News Roundup: Jupitermedia and Digital Vision supply stock for Adobe; Peachpit prepares CS2 guides.VideoCharge Software has added a new user interface and expanded the editing features in Version 3.0 of its image, video, and audio processing software, VideoCharge.
Updates from the previous 2.3 version include a more comprehensive help function, the ability to save and load configuration files, and a new wizard option for 16 of the program's functions. The wizard is aimed at enabling the program's usage for any user-skill level.
Some of the wizard options include the ability to create watermarks for images or video files; conversion of pictures and video files; extraction of pictures from a video file; and the ability to create thumbnails for image or video files.
Users also have the ability to add filters to both image files and video files, and a command line launch option has been incorporated in the VideoCharge 3.0 release.
The software is available as shareware; registration costs $39.95 with free updates provided.
Stocking Adobe: For designers and publishers who want professional images available within the Adobe CS2 software package, Jupitermedia Corp. has announced it is collaborating with Adobe Systems Inc. through Adobe Stock Photos and will be one of the five image suppliers for inclusion in the Adobe Stock Photos service.
Designers can download nonwatermarked comp images from Darien, Conn.-based, Jupitermedia's Comstock Images collection, bring them to layout and purchase them without leaving Adobe Creative Suite 2, according to the company.
Comstock Images will be included in the Adobe Stock Photos service, available in Adobe Creative Suite 2 Premium and Standard Editions software package, which includes new versions of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Acrobat 7.0 Professional, and Adobe GoLive. The Adobe CS2 software package was announced earlier this month with availability in May.

London-based Digital Vision Ltd. is another of the five named image suppliers whose images will also be available directly for purchase within Adobe CS2. According to the company, more than 50,000 images will be available.
Creative Suite 2 Guides: Primed to educate and boost the skills of all Adobe CS2 users, Berkeley, Calif.-based Peachpit Press, a subsidiary of Pearson Education, has announced that it will release its line of Adobe CS2 books beginning in early May.
The first title, "The Photoshop CS2 Book for Digital Photographers," by Scott Kelby, will ship in early May to coincide with the release of Adobe's Photoshop CS2 software, according to the company.
