SiteAnalysis tests critical Web site elements, including page load performance, links and SSL certificates.

Webmetrics announced a new service that aims to ease overall Web site management by offloading the task of testing site performance and other key metrics.

The hosted service, called SiteAnalysis, tests critical Web elements, including page load performance, internal and external links, domain names, DNS servers and SSL certificates, offloading those tasks from site managers.

"Large, dynamic Websites with multiple content sources are far more susceptible to broken links and other issues that can hinder site performance and the overall end-user experience," said Tim Drees, CEO of Webmetrics. "SiteAnalysis empowers businesses with an easy-to-use, cost-effective solution for scheduled or ad hoc site testing, allowing companies to both perform and compete more effectively online."

How it works

When users subscribe to the SiteAnalysis service, they determine their specific testing parameters and reporting preferences, as well as decide how often specific testing should be run. Webmetrics said SiteAnalysis can support tests anywhere from once an hour to once a week.

Using common Internet connection speeds, the service captures site performance and graphs download times of all embedded objects on the homepage. The service also validates SSL certificates and verifies that DNS servers are resolving accurate IP addresses. This means managers can use SiteAnalysis to help protect against common security vulnerabilities, such as "man in the middle" and Web spoofing attacks, the company said.

SiteAnalysis then reports errors and successes encountered during DNS, domain name and SSL certificate tests, provides home page load times at dial-up, low- and high-speed cable connections, and identifies broken or invalid links. Reports are generated at the conclusion of each SiteAnalysis test and delivered to subscribers via e-mail. Users can also access the reporting tools and data from a Web-based control panel, the company said.

The SiteAnalysis service is currently available. Subscription pricing starts at $50 per month for testing once per day. For more information or to sign-up for a free 10-day service trial, contact Webmetrics here.
