Ziff-Davis Media is revamping the Web sites with more how-tos, product reviews, case studies and other resources.Publish and PDFzone are now part of Ziff Davis Media's family of online publications. You may have noticed some changes todayand you're bound to see more in the coming weeks. We hope you'll find that the changes are for the better.
As a company that's in the business of print and Web publishing, we here at Ziff Davis know as well as anyone how much the face of the publishing world has changed since Publish's beginnings as a desktop publishing magazine. I've personally been involved in publishing for over 20 yearsfrom pasting up mechanicals from thermal typesetter "slicks" (and later from Apple Laser printer output) to managing multiple Web sites. So we're proud to have taken on stewardship of the Publish brand.
Andreas Pfeiffer (of The Pfeiffer Report) is helping to steer our relaunch of Publish. He kicks things off for us with a look at how digital imaging is creating a storage crisis for creative organizations. And over on PDFzone, Don Fluckinger continues to lead the show with his coverage of the latest developments in the electronic document market.
We've got big plans for both Publish and PDFzone. We'll be working to deliver more how-tos, product reviews, case studies and other resources that will help you pick the right tools and sharpen your skillswhether you're laying out a print publication, programming website features, creating the perfect images, or producing streaming media. We'll also keep you informed on what companies like Adobe, Macromedia, Quark, and other players in the content creation and management market are doing, so you can plan for the future.
I'm especially looking forward to helping shape the future of this site. And I'm also hoping that we'll be getting some help in that effort from you. Let us know what you think of the new sitewhat you miss, what you'd change, what you want more of. We'll do our best to deliver it.
Let's get the content rolling!
