Laser printer includes MICR (Magnetic Ink Character Recognition) capabilities
Xerox Corporation has introduced a new production
laser printer designed
to print checks and other negotiable documents. The
Xerox DocuPrint 75MX brings advanced MICR (Magnetic Ink Character Recognition)
capabilities to mid-volume and distributed production environments and rounds
out the company's MICR laser production printer line.
"Xerox introduced the first MICR laser printer
nearly 20 years ago, and our products have established the standard for MICR
performance," said Mark Waxenberg, vice president and general manager, Xerox
Production Solutions
Business. "The DocuPrint 75MX offers a
particularly attractive value for customers who are looking for a reliable,
full-featured mid-range product, complemented by unmatched MICR experience and
support."
Like other Xerox production MICR products, the
DocuPrint 75MX is designed for service bureaus, corporate data centers and
companies in financial services and insurance that produce checks and
negotiables for payroll, billing
and accounting services.
"With the DocuPrint 75MX, Xerox is in excellent
position to address the mid-volume MICR printing market," said Gilles Biscos,
president of market-research and consulting firm INTERQUEST. The DocuPrint
75MX will be available in North America in the fourth quarter at a U.S.
suggested manufacturer's price of $59,000. Order taking
begins
immediately. All sales are through the Xerox direct sales force and Xerox
agents.
