The low-cost WorkCentre M24 handles copying, printing, scanning and faxing.

Xerox announced a new color copier/printer it says is ideal for small workgroups that need fast, reliable printing, copying, scanning and faxing.

Designed for smaller offices with a requirement of no more than 10,000 print pages per month, the $11,395 WorkCentre M24 handles all those functions quickly and efficiently, the company said.

"Today's office users demand productivity, and Xerox's WorkCentre M24 delivers convenient, affordable multifunction capability." said Rob Stewart, vice president, marketing, Xerox Channels Group.

The new WorkCentre M24 offers print speeds of 13 pages-per-minute (ppm) in color and 24 ppm in black-and-white, 768 MB printing memory, a 10 GB hard disk and a first-page-out time of 4.7 seconds for black-and-white and 10.4 seconds for color. This makes the copier-printer among the fastest in its class, Xerox said.

It also has an "always on" feature that decreases the system's warm-up time, one-touch faxing with phone and Internet capability, and the ability to scan and send documents across an internal network or the Internet without the need for a PC.

The printer is currently available. For more information, go here.
