Neil Young's latest album is the first to be released for CD-quality download before the CD hits stores.

MusicGiants released Neil Young's newest album, Living with War (Reprise) in true CD quality today, ahead of the album's availability in stores on May 8. The offering, in WMA Lossless format, marks the first release of a CD-quality album online before its general availability in stores. A lower-quality version went online April 28 on Young's site (www.neilyoung.com).

MusicGiants launched in 2005 as the first online music service to offer downloadable audio tracks in a lossless compression format; at that time users were required to download the service's proprietary client to play DRM-protected tracks. On April 18, 2006, MusicGiants adopted Windows Media Player 10 for playback.

Users of WMP 10 can access the MusicGiants HD Music Store by clicking the down arrow in the upper right hand corner of Windows Media Player 10 and selecting the MusicGiants HD Music Store option.
