PhatPad Enhances Pocket PC Note Taking Capabilities

PhatWare Corporation, a provider of software products and professional services for mobile and desktop computers,  has begun shipping PhatPad for Windows Mobile software for Pocket PC, an enhanced note taking application optimized for the latest Windows Mobile Pocket PC platforms.

PhatPad allows users to draw pictures, jot text notes, or put a mix of pictures and text on a virtual scratch pad. PhatPad offers a user interface that supports editing commands including zoom and special fit to screen mode, 39-color pen palette, variable pen width, up to 1,000 handwritten pages per file.  Notes and drawings can be exported as bitmap or jpeg images, emailed as file attachments, and transferred to other Pocket PCs via infrared.

With PhatWare's CalliGrapher handwriting recognition product installed on the Pocket PC, PhatPad recognizes handwritten notes and converts them to plain text. It also offers the ability to search handwritten notes for specific text. CalliGrapher is available separately from the PhatWare web site at www.phatware.com.

"I am enthusiastically awaiting the release of PhatPad," said Stan Miasnikov, president of PhatWare Corporation. "I believe in success of this product because it responds expressly to our customers who've asked for a fast and affordable multi-page note taking application for Pocket PC devices."

PhatPad for Pocket PC supports any Windows Mobile-based Pocket PC or Pocket PC Phone Edition. The product carries a list price of $19.95; for a limited time, however, customers can purchase PhatPad at a low introductory price of just $9.95.
