Microsoft announced an update this week for its MSN TV 2 Internet and Media Player, giving users increased digital music, photo and e-mail capabilities.Microsoft Corp.'s
MSN TV division announced Thursday that it has released the latest software update for its
MSN TV 2 Internet and Media Player.
The update is automatic for all MSN TV 2 players and features new digital music, photo and e-mail management functions, according to a recent news release.
Currently, the MSN TV 2 player gives users to access Internet and e-mail through their television.
MSN TV 2 also lets users view Web-based video content and plays Microsoft Windows Media-compatible digital music.
With the software update, broadband and home network users will have increased access to video content through the MSN TV 2 Web site.
This includes regularly updated news clips and additional music news coverage, according to the press release.
MSN TV 2's updated Music home page will incorporate new music video content and (literally) thousands of Internet radio stations.
Also, users will have access to a new playlist feature to be used with Microsoft Windows Media-compatible digital music (including DRM-protected files).
The update enables increased digital photo management. MSN TV 2's Photo home page will now show thumbnails of the most recently viewed pictures, automatically.
