Is there an easy, inexpensive way to convert TIFF-6 files to PDF?

The Patent office puts their image files (free) in TIFF-6 files, not PDF. Is there a good program for downloading the files and converting them to PDF -- short of buying a Macintosh? –Joe Murphey

Adobe Acrobat works nicely for both functions. It can grab an entire Web site (or section thereof) and convert it to PDF. –Leonard Rosenthol

For automated patent downloads look at GetIPDL.  We've used this and it has worked well for USPTO downloads. Once you get the patents in TIFF, I agree that Acrobat works well for the conversion. Because of the method that USPTO stores and allows access to patents, Acrobat will probably not work for the download but is perfect for the conversion. –Steve Harris
