New P-2000 offers more storage and faster transfers, plus the ability to store and play video and music files.
Epson announced a new
and improved version of its photo viewer device designed to provide
photographers and designers with a high-quality, mobile photo and image viewing
platform.
The new Epson P-2000 replaces the company’s P-1000, and improves on the older version by adding a larger hard drive (now
40GB), faster transfer speeds, two built-in memory card slots and the ability to
store and play video and music files. It supports JPEG and select RAW image
files, MPEG4 and Motion JPEG video files, plus MP3 and AAC audio files. It also
includes a 3.8-in. LCD screen that offers “superior image quality,” the company
said.
"The Epson P-2000 is the perfect companion for any digital enthusiast and
provides a new level of freedom and flexibility with its incredible screen
quality, fast downloads and large storage capacity," said Grace Huang, product
manager, digital input products, Epson.
Compatible with both Windows and Macintosh platforms, the P-2000 also
comes with an integrated USB cable (the Hi-Speed USB 2.0/1.1) that lets users
print directly to an Epson printer. It comes with one lithium ion battery and
charger/AC adapter, as well as a stand for either viewing slideshows or keeping
the unit securely in place.
Available in early
November, the device costs $499.
