FAMS solution offers tracking, search and security features and is designed to simplify document management for SMEs.Software firm CoVisible Solutions, based in the United States and India, has launched a Web-based document management system called FAMS (File Approval Management System), designed for use by small and medium enterprises to help simplify the process of modifying, managing and sharing documents.
The Web-based interface enables users, no matter their geographical location, to control updates, search and find the right documents, and automate designation-based workflow. FAMS can also be used for routing documents and applications and for scanning and indexing existing documents.
Included as well is the tracking of inward/outward documents, parametric and content search, an alarms and notification system, a security system that includes encrypted passwords, and an optional Radio Frequency Identification integration feature in which physical files and documents can be tracked by using RF tags.
The check-in and check-out facility gives users the ability to update a document at any single point in time, and allows them to more easily manage the often daunting and time-consuming review approval and publishing process.
FAMS is developed on top of a multitiered platform called CoServer. CoServer supports several collaborative product and customer management applications that target customer support and knowledge management processes.
