Version 7.6 of the ad agency project management software enhances security, tracking and print project features.

Creative Manager Inc. has released an upgraded version of its Creative Manager Pro ad agency project management software that increases functionality and ease of use.

Creative Manager typically releases new versions of the product every few months, Ron Ause, director of marketing for the Lakewood, N.J., company, told Publish.com. "This allows us to put functionality in the hands of real users, listen for feedback and then respond quickly with further refinements as needed," he said. "Creative Manager users do not have to wait the typical 12-month period to benefit from enhancements and refinements to the product."

With Version 7.6, the company has added significant features in the Project Diary with Call Reports feature, including the ability to store comments and threaded conversations, and make notes available groupwide for a specific project. Ause noted the additions to the Project Diary with Call Reports feature improve "communication and collaboration both internally and with clients, which results in more time and focus on the other issues and matter with less effort and administrative costs."

This release also implements new security features such as advanced password encryption and disabling of user IDs after successive failed attempts at logging in. Ause said the updates on the security side were in response to the growth and popularity of the product among larger companies. "Creative Manager has always been a very secure system with 128-bit encryption, password authentication, the tightest possible firewalls and file storage that is completely off-Web," he said. "As we have sold the system to larger firms, we have received requests for more advanced rules regarding password management. We listened and responded."

Creative Manager Pro is Web-based project management software directed toward enabling design firms, ad agencies and creative service firms to boost and streamline agency workflow. The software is compatible with both PC and Macintosh platforms.

The company said it continues to focus on adding new features that will work with Apple Computer Inc.'s OS X Unix-based operating system, as well as Microsoft Windows. This release follows the recent release of Apple's new Mac OS X 10.3.8 update. On the horizon, Ause said, the company will continue to enhance the power of the solution. "At Creative Manager we never rest. We invest a very large percentage of revenue into R&D to make the product the best solution possible. We are currently adding exciting enhancements to the project management, calendaring, digital art review, and financial management areas of the product."

The update is free to all users of Creative Project Manager and Creative Manager Pro.
