Recent product announcements aimed at professional content creation and publishing workflows include: Adobe targeting compatibility; Typefi giving support for Adobe InDesign CS2; Artlandia boosting SymmetryWorks with Tiger and Illustrator CS2 support; and Epson introducing Epson Stylus Photo R2400 printer.

Adobe adds compatibility for Adobe Photoshop CS2 and Adobe Photoshop Elements with 3.1 Adobe Camera Raw plug-in

Adobe Systems Inc. on Wednesday announced the availability of the Adobe Camera 3.1 plug-in for Adobe Photoshop CS2 and Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0. Adobe also updated its Adobe DNG Converter, adding compatibility for the Canon EOS Rebel XT, Nikon D2X, Olympus EVOLT E-300 and Olympus C-7070 Wide Zoom cameras. This brings Adobe Camera Raw 3.1 plug-in and DNG Converter support to over 75 camera models, according to Adobe.

Typefi Systems supports Adobe InDesign CS2

Typefi Systems on Wednesday announced its support of Adobe InDesign CS2 in the pending release of its Typefi Publishing System.

TPS incorporates the page design tools in Adobe's InDesign, giving publishers the ability to create scriptless templates within Typefi's automated publishing system, according to the company.

Artlandia's SymmetryWorks 3.1.2 supports Tiger, Illustrator CS2

Artlandia Inc. on Tuesday released the SymmetryWorks 3.1.2 plug-in for Adobe Illustrator CS2. The company also confirmed compatibility for Mac OS 10.4 Tiger, with earlier versions of SymmetryWorks 3 releases.

With this release, the company has included a collection of interactive samples from the new Artlandia Glossary of Pattern Design, according to the release. The full pattern glossary is on the company Web site here.

The update is free to SymmetryWorks 3 users, and users of earlier versions can download an upgrade from the company Web site for $75.

Epson introduces Epson Stylus Photo R2400 Printer; UltraChrome K3 ink technology

On Tuesday, Epson America Inc. introduced the Epson Stylus Photo R2400 printer, replacing the earlier Epson Stylus Photo 2200, according to the company release.

Epson also released the Epson UltraChrome K3 pigment ink set, which the company says employs higher-density pigments for enhanced color and black-and-white output options.

The printer also comes with a Print Image Matching Plug-in for Adobe Photoshop, and Epson Raw Print is included for printing Raw format image files.

Epson Stylus Photo R2400's estimated price is $849, according to Epson.
