Ampede Inc. on Thursday released LayerLink 1.2, its software plug-in for Apple Motion, which now provides Adobe Illustrator support and Tiger compatibility, said the company.

The tool's license is priced at $119 and can be purchased from the Ampede Web site.

JottoSoft on Thursday released Version 1.4 of its Pixort photo image management and organizing tool.

New to this release are customizable tags, advanced folder management tools and the ability to open photos in an external editor, according to the company.

Digimarc Corp. on Thursday unveiled its free beta desktop search tool offering of the Digimarc Image Search.

The free tool can be downloaded from Digimarc's Web site, and works in tangent with existing desktop tools such as Google Desktop Search and MSN Desktop Search to boost the image search capabilities of those search tools, according to the company.

The beta release tool locates stored images by using the associated metadata embedded into the digital images. The tool searches for data such as keywords, copyright information and digital rights data, said the company.
