Ektron Inc. on Monday released its content management solution Ektron CMS400.Net Version 5.0 with enhanced search capabilities, new calendar options and Macromedia Dreamweaver extensions.

By utilizing the Dreamweaver extensions, users now can create templates and pages without leaving the CMS400.Net application, according to the company.

The company also enhanced the XML indexing and searching capabilities with this release and said it will include its document management solution Ektron DMS400 as an optional add-on module to CMS400.Net.

Canon U.S.A. Inc. on Tuesday announced the addition of DR-2050C and DR-7580 to its line of DR scanners.

The DR-2050C is a desktop sheet-fed scanner handling letter-size documents in black-and-white or grayscale at speeds up to 20 pages per minute. It comes bundled with Adobe Acrobat 7.0 and OmniPage SE.

The DR-7580 is designed for more high-volume production scanning needs and comes with Canon's scanning management and utility software CapturePerfect 3.0, according to the company.

On2 Technologies Inc. on Monday announced its newest line of Flix Macromedia Flash video encoders for digital media designers and Flash developers.

The video compression technology releases will be demonstrated at Streaming Media East in New York this week, and will include the Flix Engine, Flix Pro 4 and the Flix Exporter.
