Two vendors boost image editing power, while Turbo Photo announces the availability of inexpensive stock photos, and Vision Effects gives its video editing tool more compatibility.

  • Human Software Releases PhotoSurface 3.0

    On Friday, West Beach, N.C.-based Human Software Company Inc. released PhotoSurface 3.0, a image editing plug-in that lets users add textured effects including wood, bricks, metal, sand and glass to images.

    With the updated release of PhotoSurface 3.0 comes the ability to add aging and weathering effects to images.

    PhotoSurface offers more than 300 textures and surfaces for graphic professionals to use.

    The plug-in is compatible with Photoshop 7/CS/CS2, Elements 2/3, PhotoPaint, and Jasc Paintshop and runs on both Windows and Mac OS X platforms.

  • Turbo Photo Adds Fresh Stock Photos

    On Monday, Bend, Ore.-based Turbo Photo unveiled more royalty-free stock images for use by budget-wise graphic designers.

    The images are print-ready, and resolution of the JPEG files varies from 2560 X 1920 to 3264 X 2448. The files are designed for use with brochures, flyers, print ads, direct mail and multimedia publishing, according to the company.

    The images are compressed at level 8 online, but a CD with the images at a level 12 for better quality can be purchased for $9.

  • RE:Vision Effects Releases FieldsKit 1.5, Adding Support for Digital Fusion

    On Monday, San Francisco-based RE:Vision Effects Inc. released its upgraded effects and video editing tool FieldsKit 1.5 for After Effects-compatible applications.

    Some minor bug fixes and compatibility issues were adjusted with this release. FieldsKit 1.5 also adds support for Digital Fusion.

    The application is compatible for both Macintosh and Windows operating systems and is priced at $89.95 per license.

  • Stone Design Releases iMaginator 2.0

    Albuquerque, N.M.-based Stone Design Corp. released its upgrade image processing application iMaginator 2.0, with a newly enhanced user interface for Mac OS X 10.4 core image technology.

    The application also gives graphic professionals access to more than 100 image-enhancing effects, transitions and filters for images.

    iMaginator 2.0 also offers built-in batch processing and lets users save and reuse image effects for editing.

    iMaginator is priced at $49 and available at the company Web site.
