Panasonic Unveils DP-CL22 Printer
On Wednesday, Panasonic Corp. of North America, a subsidiary of Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. Ltd., showcased the DP-CL22 as the latest addition to its line of network color laser printers.
Panasonic rolled out the printer with enhanced utilities that include e-mail notification for printer issues or problems, advanced image controls, a longer life toner cartridge and a remote maintenance/setting tool for off-site configurations and setups by dealer technicians.
With the printer, users also have the option of a new print tool that enables direct PDF printing, which comes with the optional PostScript Upgrade Kit.

Konica Minolta and Creo Deliver IC-301 Image Controller
Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A. Inc. and Creo Inc. on Wednesday announced the IC-301 image controller, which was codeveloped by the two companies.
The IC-301 controller is based on proprietary Creo technology and was designed to drive the Bizhub PRO C500 color production printing system, according to the companies.
The new workflow solution offers advanced print functionality, including enhanced graphic capabilities and image printing controls and boosted RIP speeds.

PixelOutpost Makes Image World Larger
Digital print company PixelOutpost on Monday announced its launch of a new Internet-based print service for creating large-format prints such as almost life-size portraits or art images.
The new service is aimed at both novice and expert digital photographers, and gives consumers the ability to generate economical poster-size digital prints on canvas or paper up to 60 inches wide, according to the company.

Media Publisher Announces Media Publisher 4.0
Media Publisher Inc., a developer of business video software, on Tuesday announced the release of Media Publisher 4.0.
The latest release of the enterprise software platform adds new capabilities for enterprise Webcasting, video-on-demand, video conference broadcasting and business-video content management, said the company.

EFI and Adobe Deliver JDF Integration
Electronics for Imaging Inc. and Adobe Systems Inc. have released what the companies term the industry's first "Creation-to-Fulfillment JDF (job definition format) integration."
The EFI-JDF-Fiery connector brings connectivity between Adobe Creative Suite 2 Premium Edition and EFI's Fiery Q series print servers. The company said the connector allows users to instantaneously establish and deliver printing instruction terms, including finishing configurations, number of pages desired, ink settings and print buyer's delivery information.
The Adobe Creative Suite 2 Premium Edition to EFI Fiery and EFI Fiery JDF Connector will be available for download in late June of 2005, according to the release.
