The enterprise content management solutions company focuses its release on easing the burden of digital asset management of PowerPoint files.Interwoven, a provider of enterprise content management solutions, has introduced MediaBin Presentation WorkBench, available as part of the latest version of Interwoven's MediaBin Asset Server.
The tool is aimed at easing and reducing the burden of digital asset management of PowerPoint files within companies.
Bob Estes, vice president of marketing for content management at Interwoven Inc., based in Sunnyvale, Calif., said, "We've found in more of an incidental survey that more than 15 to 20 percent of storage space was used up by PowerPoint attachments. That's a bandwidth problem. And at the end of the day, a company is investing a lot of money and space into marketing content that may not even be relevant at present."
MediaBin Presentation WorkBench provides users single window access to multiple PowerPoint presentations; custom presentation ability, which enables users to select and reorder slides from existing presentations and assemble new presentations; pre-approved templates for ensuring brand congruency; and improved file storage handling for PowerPoint files, the company said.
"There are a lot of point solutions out there to manage PowerPoint files, but with our interface, we've jumped over the others. We've made it very user-friendly and enable users to create their own 'press room' for each unique client," Estes said.
The release, Estes said, is intended to give companies a way to manage the control access to presentations and to make certain that brand compliance and collaboration is a fundamental part of the asset management.
"Users can reassemble and create a new PowerPoint presentation on the fly. They can create recipes from a media boilerplate that are unique to each client. Creating content that's relevant and useful in relation to marketing and sales is one of the challenges. This release addresses that, and users can save the new presentation individually or group-wide globally," said Estes.
Estes also said that Interwoven intends to expand the market base solutions for managing PowerPoint files in the future.
"You will see more directed solutions to PowerPoint. We're looking at better tailored integration within the legal arena, for instance, and then at more integrations with the WorkBench approach with MS Office," Estes said.
MediaBin Presentation WorkBench will be available as a standard component of the latest release of Interwoven MediaBin Asset Server beginning March 31.
