RedDot releases its newest versions of RedDot CMS 7.5 and LiveServer 7.5, Web content management tools that allow enterprise users to access documents across intranets, schedule tasks and search for documents.

RedDot Solutions, the Open Text Web Solutions Group, announced March 21 that it has launched new versions of RedDot CMS 7.5 and RedDot LiveServer 3.5, which include features that enable enterprises to schedule tasks, enhanced search repository and new text editors.

RedDot CMS allows users to update and import their content, store graphics assets, meet industry and regulatory requirements regarding Web site access, and construct their Web site, intranet and extranet.

Using RedDot CMS 7.5, enterprise users are able to access important business documents over intranets, extranets and Web sites while also gaining a search system that allows them to look through the CMS (content management software) repository and find the pages for which they are looking.

"With RedDot CMS 7.5, business users can control how, when, where and to whom Web content should be delivered," Stefanie Lightman, vice president of marketing for the New York-based RedDot, told eWEEK.

CMS 7.5 also enables enterprise users to schedule and group tasks, which will cut down on the number of e-mails being sent; it will also allow users to update the information in the e-mail. Version 7.5 will also let business professionals link directly to the page that needs to be edited or see a preview of the page.

CMS 7.5 allows partners, customers and developers to construct RedDot Web components and standardized tools, which enables users to place these tools within the page. The first Web component that is being released is the collaboration forum, which enables site administrators to add on a Web forum.

The updated content management software also makes content available in several languages on an option list. For example, the country selection list will have the name of the country in English on an international Web site and in the native language on the country's Web site.

In addition, CMS 7.5 includes text editor options such as Ephox EditLive for Java, which includes editing functions for text, images and links while also providing standards compliant transformation into HTML.

RedDot also announced that it has released its newest version of LiveServer, Version 7.5, enterprise content management software that enables business users to access and customize content, secure data, and apply log-in and user registration settings.

LiveServer allows users to provide personalized content on a Web site, intranet and extranet based on what the visitor is looking for. Its search engine enables users to access text, documents, presentations, Adobe PDF files and a Web service connector, which allows users to take data from an external application and put it on their Web site.

LiveServer 7.5 builds on the above-mentioned features and allows enterprises to put their Web sites up faster while also making them more reliable with a session-based failover.

The enterprise content management software also uses Web components to help set up log-in and user registration settings.

"RedDot LiveServer allows business users to control the delivery of the content to targeted user groups and also features the ability to integrate content from your organization with content stored in Open Text Livelink, SAP Portal and Microsoft SharePoint," Lightman said.

RedDot CMS 7.5 and RedDot LiveServer 3.5 are available now, with prices starting at $55,000.
