Each piece of a QuickTime movie is contained its own track. Here is a list of the different tracks that are a part of QuickTime.

When creating a QuickTime movie, you add tracks that point to the media that you want to use. That media can be embedded in the movie itself, or reside on a separate server. Each track has a different function, and every movie that is creatd can have many different tracks. The following is a list of the different tracks that are available in QuickTime.

 

  • Movie –Contains general information on the entire movie
  • Video –Contains digitized video, 3D animation, image sequences and special effects.
  • Audio –Contains any audio format
  • Music –Includes MIDI music files
  • Text –Features the titles, credits and other text in the movie
  • Chapter –Divides the movie into chapters
  • Sprite –Contains small images with programmable behaviors; can be used for effects, games and other uses
  • 3D –Contains QuickDraw 3D metafile objects
  • Flash –Incorporates Flash animation
  • QuickTime VR object –Contains VR information for object movies
  • QuickTime VP panorama –Contains VR information for panorama movies
  • HREF –Contains interactive and URL links
  • Streaming –Refers to live streams or a movie on a streaming server
  • Hint –Information that allows a streaming server to deliver a media track as a real-time stream.
